Max Stone is an inhabitant of Vault 13 in 2161 and a possible identity of the Vault Dweller.

Background

"Stone" to his friends, Maxwell is the largest person currently living in the Vault. He is known for his physical strength and stamina. He would make the ideal volunteer due to his tremendous size and strength. It is unfortunate that his intelligence was affected after birth when the labor bot dropped him on his head. He doesn't care that he might have to leave the Vault.

Max appears only in Fallout.

Notes

• Stone is the only character playable in the Fallout demo. While his background and stats are the same as in the retail version, his traits are different in the demo.
• He is designed to provide a combative, as opposed to a diplomatic or stealthy, approach to solving the central conflict in the game: the Master.

Behind the scenes

• It's entirely possible that he is a reference to "Mad" Max Rockatansky, the titular character of Mad Max.
